After a sunset drink in a breathtaking setting? My Cyprus Insider has got you covered with a few suggestions that are bound to get your heart racing down in Paphos!
1. Suite 48
Glorious sea, fabulous cocktails, the beat of chill out music in the background…what more could you possibly ask for? At a fantastic location overlooking the magnificent blue of the Med, this place within the gardens and grounds of the stylish Amphora Hotel & Suites is one that we’re almost tempted to keep under wraps. Then again, pretty much everyone in Paphos raves about the place, so it’s no big secret that Suite 48 Grill and Lounge Bar is a great spot to wash the day away with a fabulous cocktail.
With plenty of delicious concoctions to choose from, including their fabulous Cosmopolitans, this chic but mellow venue is the perfect location to kickback and make the most of the glorious sea breeze as the sun goes down over the magnificent coastline. Don’t fancy alcohol? Their smoothies and juices are bound to go down an absolute treat.

2. Ouzeri at Almira Hotel
For a touch of class and fantastic ambiance, head to the Ouzeri at Almira Hotel, with wooden decking that reaches out to touch the waves dotted with little more than a handful of tables. You can watch the sun go down near the water’s edge, and while this place dishes up fine food, there is nothing stopping you from heading here for a fabulous aperitif come dusk, and then tucking into the range of Cyprus inspired delights on the menu if you so wish.
With live entertainment several nights a week, the Ouzeri fits in well with the overall vibe of the hotel: simple and stylish, with a cutting edge minimal lines that give it a very contemporary feel. All about blue and white hues, their is a Grecian charm about the place that oozes simple chic. And yes, it’s the ideal location to order an ice cold ouzo as views that stretch all the way down to the Paphos castle will make each sip of tipple more tantalising than the next.

3. Oniro by the Sea
For a picturesque and rather romantic setting to remember where you can kick back and quite literally feel the stress of the day completely disappear, head to Oniro by the Sea in the Peyia area of Paphos. And as the name suggests, it really is a dreamy experience, situated in a spot of outstanding natural beauty with unobstructed sea views and wonderful sunsets over the spectacular sea caves which are beautifully lit up at night. There’s also a shipwreck in site, with the stranded Edro III commanding attention: the Sierra Leone-flagged ship has remained stranded here since December 2011. Perhaps the location of this place is so very charming because it’s a little off the beaten track (you have to veer off the Sea Caves road to find it) and it’s really a ‘no frills’ kind of venue oozing simple laid back charm.
Upgraded last year with lovely decking, there are garden chairs and tables sprawled across the green grass, backed by a pretty wooden structure that houses the kitchen/bar, while the specials of the day creatively doodled across a blackboard. Go there at dusk and you’ll probably love it so much that you may be tempted to stay on well into the night! And if you’re wondering what to order, they specialise in a wide range of fresh fruit mojitos, and also serve up great tropical Sangria.

4. Muse Café Kitchen Bar
If you’re looking for a view from above, you won’t come across a much better vantage point than this one! With this bar/restaurant proudly perched on the edge of a cliff with panoramic views across the town and Paphos bay, it’s a great place to get away from it all at the end of the day.
With a modern ambiance and attention to detail, Muse is hands down one of the very best places to watch the sun go down over the western coast, whether you’re after a romantic rendezvous, or wish to cheers the day away with a group of friends. And with talk of saying cheers, there’s plenty of tipple on the menu to get you ticking and cocktails that will no doubt give you good reason to order another round. With classic Mojitos, to fruity Caipirinhas and berry Caipiroskas in the mix, you’ve also got to indulge in the signature Muse cocktails that (you guessed it) are named after the nine ancient Greek deities. From Clio the muse of history, to Urania, the muse of astronomy, the choice is yours!

5. Alea Café- Lounge Bar
A great place to pop into for a pre-dinner cocktail if you’re by the harbour, there is no better way to enjoy a sundowner while taking in a bit of history, with the Paphos Castle standing proud in the vicinity. Not one to be missed if you’re in town, Alea Cafe-Lounge Bar is cool, laid back, and is situated right in the hub of things, sandwiched between other cafes and restaurants right on the harbour.
But it’s not just the sunset over the castle that you can enjoy at this busy trendy spot, as it also makes the perfect place for a bit of people-watching as the young and young at heart mix and mingle. To put it simply- don’t go here expecting quiet in the evening, it’s more the kind of place to take in the buzz and where like locals like to see and be seen! Feeling the summer sizzle? Go for one of their delicious frozen Daiquiris and you’ll certainly be grateful for the chill factor as the sun paints its colourful hues over the horizon, all brilliantly reflected in the still waters of the harbour.
