4. The Sama, Spilies, Troodos district

A lovely little tavern in Spilia village (just off the main road past Kakopetria and up to Troodos), The Sama is as cosy as it is cute, boasting quintessentially Cypriot charm as local dishes filled with flavour arrive on the table in a firelit dining room.

 

 

When you’ve warmed up indoors, you may like to venture out for a walk along one of the area’s great nature trails as outdoor splendour beckons.

5. Platos Bar and Restaurant, Nicosia

If there’s one place that you’ve got to head to for a festive drink in the capital, it’s has got to be Platos Bar and Restaurant; an old sandstone building tucked away in the historic streets of Old Nicosia with random bric-à-brac bringing the olde worlde interior to life.

 

 

With a vast selection of beers, spirits and wine from around the world, sip on your favourite drink while ogling at the roaring fireplace in the covered outdoor area. Feeling hungry? They dish up massive burgers and lovely marinated souvlaki.

6. Agrino restaurant, Apokryfo hotel, Lofou, Limassol district

Head up the beautiful winegrowing district and have spot of lunch at the beautiful Agrino restaurant that forms part of the Apokryfo boutique hotel.

 

 

With a big emphasis on fresh local ingredients, you’ll be drooling with every bite as you kick back in a meticulously decorated interior by Thesis. And you may just be tempted to put your feet up in one of the cosy rooms for the night…!

7. Lyhnos, Askas village, Nicosia district

Lyhnos in Askas is another one of our fireplace favourites, also boasting a fantastic restaurant that dishes up some divine local dishes with a contemporary twist served alongside a lovely selection of wine.

8. Pangratios Tavern, Miliou, Paphos district

Many have said that this place dishes up some of the best meze on the island, while others love the fact that it’s small, cosy, and located in what has to be one of the most beautiful areas of the island deep in the Paphos countryside. Crack open a bottle of red wine, tuck into the little dishes filled with local goodness and let the good times roll!
