In true My Cyprus Insider style, our team have slipped on their flip flops and ventured beyond the most popular and well-trodden stretches of sand in Larnaca, dipping our toes into alternative cool salty waters, that are bound to refresh the senses over the long weekend break! Just follow our lead…

1. Kastela Beach

Golden sands, a Blue Flag status, shallow waters and a tropical vibe! This pretty much sums up the undisputed charm of Kastela Beach. Add a funky beach bar into the mix, and voila: real summer heaven, ideal for those looking for a bit of action by the sunkissed shores. And cat lovers can also rejoice, as the venue is the home of ‘Kastelitsa’; a ginger can that’s reached near celebrity status, with hundreds of beach goers posing for a photo with the fluffy beauty over the years! How to get the beach? It’s right next to the ‘Psarolimano’ harbour behind the rather tempting ice cream parlours.

2. Parasolia Beach

Very close to Mazotos beach, this beauty in Kiti village may be slightly off the beaten track, but it’s a well organised beach, with a cute and colourful little beach bar serving much-needed refreshments. Perfect for the whole family, adults can laze under the the shade of the umbrellas while kids splash about in the typically shallow Larnaca waters!

3. Faros Beach

Popular with families, this stretch of coastline in Pervolia village is the perfect spot to totally unwind. A sandy beach that takes its name from a nearby lighthouse, this place is another great hit with the little ones, with shallow waters giving them the chance to splash around to their heart’s content. With all amenities at hand, there’s also watersports to keep everyone busy for hours. After a refreshment? Faros Beach Bar will quench your thirst!
