Could you have done with more summer holidays? We’re seriously lucky that is Cyprus blessed with endless sunshine and warm (often very hot) weather during the autumn months, so you can still work on that tan by the beach or poolside. And it’s a great time for a wild countryside escape too, especially if you’re after a cooler breeze at higher altitudes. In true My Cyprus Insider fashion, we’ve located some top new spots to leave you feeling like your re-living mid-summer magic all over again!

1. Tina’s Country Home, Askas, Pitsilia

If ever there was an absolutely quirky yet fabulously fascinating country home, Tina’s (pictured in article cover photo) has got to be it! Nestled in the medieval mountain village of Askas, there is absolutely nothing normal about this place. And this, is the very reason why we love it so much. Tina’s Country Home is packed with just about any and every antique or unusual trinket imaginable, but somehow, the owners have still managed to make it look stylish.

You can even listen to your favourite music by the jukebox (yes, a jukebox!) or kick back with a good book that takes your fancy from the vast collection in the library. The kitchen is as rustic as it gets, the master bathroom features a Victorian-style bathtub, the two suites are decorated like they’ve stepped out of a fairy-tale, the balconies boast dreamy country views and the list goes on! Feeling the chill when you gaze up at the stars in the garden at night? A rustic wood burner will leave you feeling all warm and tingly on the inside.

2. Cyprus Glamping Park, Ayios Theodoros, Larnaca

Cyprus Glamping Park may be built on flat land, but it will still seriously lift the senses once you set your sights on the gorgeous wooden cottages surrounded by lovely tranquil gardens dotted with olive trees. Just a stone’s throw from the sea in the Ayios Theodoros area – and a mere ten-minute walk from the beach – the cottages are ideal for those of you looking for a home away from home, where you can actually collect fresh eggs for your breakfast in the morning and enjoy your dinner al fresco in your own little garden under the starry night sky come evening.

Giving you the chance to immerse yourselves in nature without the hassle of camping, all modern amenities including Wi-Fi and AC, ensure a comfortable stay. Each studio cottage can accommodate up to four people and each two-bed cottage can accommodate up to six people.

3. Euphoria Art Land, Pyrgos, Limassol

Not just a place to visit on a day out, Euphoria Art Land is also the perfect holiday escape just outside the main Limassol hub, featuring three autonomous houses adorned with intricate mosaic art taking you on a trip around the world, as Ethiopian, Moroccan, Latin American and Indian vibes fuse to form a multicultural experience. Vibrant colours scream out for attention and intricate designs are about as innovative as you can get. With a focus on used, reclaimed and recycled materials, the whole place has been painstakingly created by interior designer and teacher, Athos Myrianthous, who loves painting, sculpture, gardening and creating art from recyclable materials found in nature.

The grounds here are dreamy too: tall eucalyptus trees reach up to touch the skies, and tropical trees befriend a whole array of herbs and plants. All this, with manmade lakes, water lilies and lotus plants calling out for attention, amid beautiful cactus gardens.
