Food trucks are one of those culinary innovations that have been around for years but have suddenly become incredibly cool. Here in Cyprus, food trucks used to be all about convenience – a place where workers would quickly stop off to grab a mid-day sandwich, or where beachgoers would frequent before hitting the motorway, curbing those late afternoon hunger pangs with a fabulously greasy halloumi lounza sandwich. But all that has totally changed, and food trucks have almost become part of a new culinary cult. It’s where the cool kids gravitate for a mid-week bite; it’s the modern-day alternative to a fast food joint, but this time, with a hip artisan flair.

1. Grill n Roll

Some love their signature American beef patty, other drool over the fish taco roll, while many rave about their Korean chicken. Grill n Roll is all about a flavorful fusion that teases the taste buds – a street food extravaganza that can be enjoyed in the most casual style.  You’ll find the truck at different events around the country – just check out their Facebook page to see where they’ll be next.

2. Messy Kitchen

Launched as a pop-up after the pandemic, Messy Kitchen is a movable station (based in Nicosia) that makes an appearance at various cool events and bars.  And as the name of this place suggests, Messy Kitchen is all about somewhat ‘dirty’ but gloriously indulgent comfort food – good quality fast food that pays homage to good old-fashioned American style cooking with a modern twist. Customers love the beef wagyu sliders, their unique corn dogs and the deliciously tempting crunchy chicken popcorn. Don’t want to make move? You can get Messy Kitchen delivered to your doorstep  – check out their Facebook page for all details.

3. Rafael’s

Did anyone say cheese? If you’re a die hard pizza lover, then you’ve got to head on down to Rafael’s food truck in Limassol city centre, dishing up deliciously indulgent, seriously juicy, Napolitan pizzas day in and day out. Some even claim that these guys serve the pizza Limassol in Limassol, while others rave about their sweet treats. All we can say is that you’d never expect a food truck to serve pizzas quite as spectacular as these!
