The wild and rugged peaks of the Troodos Mountains are stunning no matter what the time of year, but once covered in powdery white winter snow, the scene transforms into one that could have easily stepped out of a magical fairy-tale. And despite the fact that Cyprus is not widely reputed as a winter sports reputation, there is endless fun to be had on the dazzling peaks, with hundreds of avid skiers and snowboarders descending on the area to let off some steam at high altitudes.
On January 19th, things are set to take on even more exciting proportions in the area, with celebrations taking place as part of World Snow Day; an occasion celebrated in a great number of countries around the world on the same date.
All the Troodos action will be centered around North Face and Sun Valley Ski Slopes, with fun for the whole family to enjoy – especially the little ones – as young beginners will be given the chance to enjoy a free introduction to the sport by academy coaches and academy athletes. All this, with upbeat music by a local radio station, mulled wine for all adults and plenty of delicious goodies for everyone to devoir.
Where and when? North Face and Sun Valley Ski Slopes, Troodos Mountains. January 19th. All-day event.
