Niche dining experiences are the new big thing right now, and the pandemic has also meant that foodies crave more intimate experiences with fewer people and al fresco gastronomic extravaganzas. Always keen to try anything new, the My Cyprus Insider team presents some really exciting new gastronomic experiences to enjoy over the upcoming Cyprus Easter break!
1. An organised boho picnic at CyHerbia Botanical Park, Avgorou
For a ‘back to basics’ experience with a real twist, head to the village of Avgorou and the peaceful CyHerbia Botanical Park. A beautiful natural haven on the island’s east coast, it usually attracts visitors who enjoy a stroll through its landscaped herb gardens and an adventure through the twisting leafy green depths of the 2000 sq.m. maze. But now, nature lovers have yet another reason to add the park to their bucket list, as the establishment offers guests the chance to indulge in a glamorous picnic in the woodland. And you don’t need to think about a thing: the attentive park staff takes care of the setup, the food and drinks. All you have to do is choose a date and enjoy your platter!

2. A full tasting experience at The Anama Cellar, Lythrodontas
Yet another treat in the middle of the countryside, this experience takes you to the Anama Concept’s cellar and its idyllic yard in the Nicosia district village of Lythrodontas. The venue has been set up especially for private events, giving guests the chance to enjoy either the Anama Outdoor Full Tasting Experience, The Anama Extraordinary “Happy Hour Concept” (every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evening 17:00-21:00 ) and the Anama Fine Wines & Spirits Two Hours Tasting Experience. Whether you want to book an alternative night out for a special occasion with friends and family, or are keen on organising a work team bonding experience, the two-hour tasting occassion will delight the taste buds with Anama dry and semi-dry wines, Anama Vintage 2013 and Anama Single Barrel Vintage 2009, as well as Anama’s full range of spirits. Private dinner options are also available.

3. ‘My View’ private dinner by Roddy Damalis, Monagrouli
After closing the doors of the legendary ‘Ta Piatakia’ in Limassol centre one year ago, well-known chef Roddy Damalis now returns with a brand-new venture aptly named ‘My View’. Having transformed an area within his Monagrouli village home (just outside Limassol) to welcome guests, the new private dining and events space boasts fabulous views across rolling hills and the glistening Med beyond. Here, the chef will host your private events in his glamorous dining room adjacent to his open kitchen, including small, intimate dinners around the pool, grande sumptuous soirées, boozy Sunday lunches on the terrace, cocktail parties and cookery workshops. And who can say no to that over the Easter break?
