With Instagram all the rage these days, everyone on social media is always looking for that picture perfect post. And while there are countless articles and blogs guiding social media users on how to get the perfect picture – delving into filters, shooting angles and the best time to share – nothing beats a gorgeous location to leave your followers wide-eyed.

My Cyprus Insider has done the legwork for you and has narrowed down 10 of the most Instagrammable venues on the island…

1. Nava Seaside, Paralimni

This new kid on the block is the epitome of all things cool, hip, trendy and the list goes on! And its hands down one of the most Instagrammable venues on the east coast, if not the whole of Cyprus. Oozing boho-chic appeal, Nava Seaside begs to be your next insta-perfect backdrop! And while you’re at it, kick back by the turquoise waters of Paralimni on stylish wooden sunbeds, and enjoy regular music events, with both DJ sets and live gigs livening up those endless summer days and nights.

2. Ammos Beach Bar, Makenzy Beach, Larnaca

Its pure white, minimalist design and golden sand to match are instantly recognizable and for good reason. Ammos Beach Bar has been around for more than a decade, giving crowds a reason to party on Makenzy beach, and is still going strong. Originally just a bar/lounge restaurant, Ammos began hosting events and saw its online engagement explode. Come summer, posting pictures while lazily posing next to the sea is a must for most Instagrammers!

3. Aelia Wellness Retreat, Tseri, Nicosia district

Dreamy and meticulously designed, this retreat on the outskirts of Nicosia is as picture-perfect as it gets. With beautiful gardens and stylish décor, Aelia Wellness Retreat is not just a popular place for Instagrammers, but anyone looking to immerse themselves in a serene environment just outside the island’s capital. The stunning venue is also popular for weddings and other special occasions.

4. Isola Beach Bar, Ayia Napa

Another brand new beach bar, this time in the buzzing hub of Ayia Napa, this funky place within the grounds of the well-known Nissi Beach Resort is already becoming a super-hot topic on Instagram feeds. Backed by the gorgeous white sands and translucent turquoise waters of Nissi beach, the dreamy Isola Beach Bar is open day and night for coffees, detox drinks, cocktails, music and Med inspired eats. Kick back on a stool by the bar or relax on a sunbed right by the beach for moments of pure summer bliss.

5. Patio Cocktail Bar, Nicosia

Patio Cocktail Bar enjoys its fair share of avid fans, with a brilliant (and massive) inner courtyard garden with walls decorated with old-fashioned multicoloured wooden shutters from top to bottom. An amazing backdrop if ever there was one, the greenery adds to the charm, while flashy cocktails and tapas dishes lure in the smiles…and clicks!

6. Oniro by the Sea, Peyia Sea Caves, Paphos

A magical chilled out restaurant/bar, Oniro by the Sea is a great spot to immortalize your memories, situated atop the scenic Peyia Sea Caves. Every Instagrammer’s dream, wonderful sunsets over the spectacular caves truly bring magic to life. You might be surprised to see a shipwreck commanding attention in the distance, with the stranded Edro III (a Sierra Leone-flagged ship) stranded here since December 2011. With the venue itself serving divine food and cocktails, you may be tempted to stay here well after your first sundowner!

7. Tasties, Lefkara village, Larnaca district

Lefkara village has enjoyed a great revival over the past few years, with locals and visitors alike heading here to take in the areas’ beauty while walking through the cobbled lanes where local lace and silverware adorn shop windows. And if there’s one place that Instagrammers love in the heart of the village, it has to be Tasties restaurant & café, set in a beautifully renovated old building. Once inside, take a good look at the books, antiques and all sorts of bric-à-brac. And there’s a lush inner courtyard that makes for great photos!

9. The Gym, Nicosia

Foodies gravitate towards this gastro bar for high-quality food and uniquely executed cocktails in a cool atmosphere in the heart of the old town right on the buzzing Onasagorou Street. Characterized by a curtain of trailing ivy which shields its customers from the street buzz, the interior of The Gym is really something to write home about as industrial chic meets retro cool in the most brilliant unison. Its characteristic white tiled bar is accentuated with a backdrop of exposed stone as all sorts of jars, bottles and gorgeous vintage decanters beckon attention.

8.  Guaba Beach Bar, Limassol

The young and young-at-heart gravitate towards Guaba Beach Bar for one crazy party after another in the summer season, and revellers often post their fun-filled photos on Instagram as international DJs crank up the volume behind the decks. The place itself is as colourful and vibrant as the parties it hosts, right by the golden Limassol coastline.

10. Edem’s Yard, Larnaca

Every foodstagrammer’s dream, this place is where the cool kids in Larnaca hang out and munch away to their heart’s content come weekends. The restaurant is set in an idyllic leafy courtyard within the grounds of Edem EnSuites; an eccentric and quirky boutique hotel just a stone’s throw from Finikoudes promenade.
