As we slowly but surely prepare to welcome the winter season, many of us are no doubt starting to think about where we would love to spend our December break. And as the festive season is synonymous with family, we’ve located some incredibly cosy homes that can accommodate kids and adults for the perfect time out!

1.  Schoolmaster’s House, Lofou – Luxurious twist on tradition

Hands down one of the most beautiful rustic boutique hotels on the island, it’s hard to find a single spot within Apokryfo that doesn’t deserve to be photographed! Little wonder, given that the whole place – situated in the stunning Limassol winegrowing village of Lofou – has been created by an architect and interior designer couple. Within the gorgeous complex, the Schoolmaster’s house oozes rustic charm and it’s large enough to accommodate family and friends.

What we love most about the three-bedroom listed house is the quaint farmhouse-style kitchen (truly unusual for Cyprus) and private courtyard garden; the perfect spot to soak up the morning winter sunshine with a steaming cup of coffee. The open fireplace in the spacious sitting room adds to the wow factor, while the master bedroom upstairs is pretty special too, with a divine king-size bed, and an en suite bathroom complete with a jacuzzi, shower and double washbasins.

2.  The Imperial Blue Stone House, Doros- A cute & cosy retreat

Another Limassol district gem, this gorgeous stone house is located in the lovely village of Doros, surrounded by almond trees and grapevines and home to charming old stone houses cradling cobbled streets. Step into Imperial Blue Stone House and you’ll want to snuggle up in the living room, with its comfy couch gorgeous stone walls and fireplace that fills the room with warmth in no time.

The fully equipped kitchen and vintage dining table are as cute as can be, but you may want to wrap up and head out into the courtyard which features a traditional wood oven – perfect for foodies who may want to make their own pizza or slow-cooked lamb.

3.  Lazaros Stone House, Lefkara – A pet-friendly abode

The Larnaca district village of Lefkara needs no introduction, renowned for its traditional lace and silverware. And if you’re looking for a pet-friendly home to accommodate all the family in this bucolic village, then Lazaros Stone House should be right up your street.

Lovingly restored the way tradition intended, this house has been transformed into a 7-room complex which means that you can book the entire house with heaps of friends and family, while still maintaining some form of privacy when you want to call it a day. We love the Lefkara stone touches as well as the traditional memorabilia and décor scattered around the complex.
