Mavrokolympos dam may not be the most well known in Paphos, but given its proximity to the town centre – a mere 11 kilometres – it’s a lovely place to enjoy a morning or afternoon out, surrounded by vegetation and greenery during the spring.

Built in the 1960s above the Mavrokolympos river, the dam actually makes for a great birdwatching point and you can often spot goats and sheep traversing the countryside.
There are also plenty of wildflowers to spot in the area, in full bloom during the glorious spring months!
Where? 11 kilometres outside Paphos town, accessible from the road connecting Paphos to Coral Bay
