Now open for bookings and set to officially open its doors in March 2018, the Olive Tree Sanctuary team are working side by side the Vasilias Nikoklis Inn in the quiet village of Nikokleia in Paphos, where guests have the chance to put their feet up for the night in a stone built countryside haven about 17km southwest of Paphos town.
The stunning valley, crossed by the Diarizos river, is blanketed in vineyards, orange orchards and many other plantations, while Nikokleia village is just a stone’s throw from the gorgeous Asprokremos dam.
All about nourishing your body and your soul, the retreat will be serving three healthy vegan meals a day, along with snacks, fresh juices, local herbal teas and vegan wines. Yoga practice will take place twice daily, either with the resident yoga teacher, Vanessa Morton, or international yoga teacher, Karuna DiLibero. The hosts emphasise that the sanctuary aims to help you heal, rejuvenate, relax, and just be still, as you forget the stresses and pressures of daily life. With beautiful gardens to kick back and enjoy the sunshine, you can also enjoy a couple of optional trips, including a visit to a Cypriot vegan winery with meze lunch and/or a picnic at Aphrodite’s rock.
Aiming to support the local community, The Olive Tree Sanctuary will be giving visitors the chance to enjoy a small market on the last day of each retreat, with a selection of local vegan-friendly gifts to choose from. If you reside in Cyprus and don’t wish to stay at the retreat, then places are offered for one-week morning and evening yoga sessions.
