Much like spring, autumn is hands down one of the best seasons to explore the great outdoors in Cyprus. As you put your best foot forward through the countryside, you’ll feel the crunch of crimson leaves beneath your feet, as the crisp autumn breeze rejuvenates the senses and lifts the spirits!  And once you’ve made the most of a good bit of exercise under endless blue skies, there are few villages prettier than Vouni to take in the splendors of local tradition.

Located in the glorious vine-covered foothills of the Troodos mountains outside Limassol, the winding drive to reach the village is an incredibly scenic one, no matter where you approach it from. Head into the centre of the village – that has witnessed a glorious revival of late – and take in the olde-worlde charm, with stories of yesteryear coming to life around every magnificent turn. Once you’ve had a leisurely look around, step into Corner of Angel’s coffee shop and make the most of the stunning views, with the surrounding green slopes clearly visible on the back balcony.

If you want to get cosy indoors, there are comfy armchairs that you can sink into and plenty of desserts (with both traditional and modern flavours) to satiate the taste buds. Take in the warm ambiance and make the most of the alternative vibes as all things traditional are given a slightly modern and artsy twist; take note of the bar area made with the facade of an old bus!

Want to watch the village folk go by? Take a seat outside the front entrance of the coffee shop, and sip on your coffee or tea. In the mood for something alcoholic? Local wine should go down a treat, with charcuterie and cheese boards to delight the palate.
