Just east of the ‘Karvouna Saitta’ valley, the village of Pelendri beckons in the Troodos district of Pitsillia, cocooned by hills home to a variety of fruit trees reaching for the skies side-by-side almond and walnut trees. Add to that rambling vines, and the whole scene is an altogether idyllic one.

Once you drive out of the village towards the Troodos village of Amiandos, a tiny little park is every nature lover’s dream – situated right by a river bank – and referred to as Kolokasi (taro) park by locals.

When the weather heats up, it’s the perfect spot to kick back and enjoy pure relaxation under the tall plane trees by the cool waters. Pack a picnic basket, and you can sit back on one of the benches, with a nearby kiosk serving refreshments.

Where? Just outside Pelendri Village, Troodos Mountains.
